"When one gets close to Nature, the love of beauty grows as it cannot in the distractions of a camp. Jubilant winds and waters sound in grand harmonious symphonieswild music flowing on forever from a thousand thousand sources." John Muir

From the incredible architecture of the Grand Canyon and the solitude of an alpine meadow, to the majesty of a natural arch, the tumbling waterfalls of the Cascade Range and the gracefulness of seeds floating away in the wind, Wilderness Suite portrays the wild spirit of the natural world. In creating this piece, I traveled throughout the West, visiting some of its great national parks and wilderness areas, seeking places untouched by the hand of civilization.

The inspiring words of the great naturalist, John Muir, may serve as a prologue to each of the three movements of Wilderness Suite. In a time when nature seems so far removed from our lives, the music, images and Muir's uplifting words speak to us just as an old growth forest reminds its guests of the timeless, nurturing, peaceful feeling of being surrounded by the loving embrace of nature.
